Is Zante a Greek island?

Yes, Zante, also known as Zakynthos, is a Greek island. It is located just off the west coast of mainland Greece, and is the 11th largest of all of Greece’s islands.

How to get to Zakynthos?

It is very easy to get to Zakynthos, as the island has its own bustling airport with international flights available to and from destinations all over the world. Simply fly straight to the island’s main airport Zakynthos Airport Dionysios Solomos, which is located close to the capital of Zakynthos Town. You can also catch the ferry from Kyllini on the Greek mainland to Zakynthos town, with a journey time of around an hour and a half.

How to get to Zakynthos from Santorini?

Santorini is a small Greek island located in the Mediterranean, almost halfway between Greece and Turkey. The easiest way to get between the two would be to fly, although there aren’t any direct flights. You can, however, fly to Athens first, and then on to Zakynthos, which will take in the region of about three hours. There is a ferry that runs between the islands, with an average journey time of just over 12 hours.

How to go to Zakynthos from Athens?

The easiest way to get between these two destinations would be to fly, with a direct flight available that takes just over an hour. If you want to go by boat, you will need to first travel to the port of Kyllini from Athens, where you will then be able to board a ferry that will take you across the short distance to Zakynthos town.

Is Zante a party island?

Parts of Zante are very popular for those seeking long nights dancing until the sun comes up. The Laganas Strip is the place to go for those looking to let their hair down. However, most of Zante offers a laid-back, tranquil atmosphere under the roasting Grecian sun, full of culture, idyllic beaches and fantastic accommodation. Therefore, Zante is a perfect location for party-goers and families alike.

Is Zante family friendly?

Yes, although Zante is often synonymous with nightlife and parties, the island of Zante on the whole is perfectly family-friendly. You can expect large vacation homes with room for everyone in fantastic locations with far-reaching views, pristine beaches, whispering waves, and quaint, charming villages dotted all over the island.

When is Zante busiest?

Zante is busiest in the summer months, when tourists arrive on the island to make the most of its incredible weather and beautiful scenery. However, in the fall and spring months, the weather remains warm and comfortable, without the crowds found throughout summer. This makes spring and fall the best times to visit Zante.

How big is Zante?

Zante is Greece’s 11th biggest island, clocking in at 405.6 kilometers squared. For comparison, the smallest state in the USA is Rhode Island, which boasts a landmass of 3,144 kilometers squared. In terms of population, there are only around 41,000 people living on this Greek island.
