When is the best time to visit Hawaii?
Hawaii has a perennially pleasant climate, meaning that it is always a good idea to visit this beautiful Pacific destination. With that being said, March through September is the best time to visit overall, with low levels of rainfall and high average temperatures - the perfect conditions for enjoying the world-class beaches of Hawaii. The rest of the year is by no means cold, but rainfall levels are higher.

Food in Hawaii
Hawaiian food reflects the tropical splendor of the archipelago itself. Expect fresher-than-fresh seafood, colorful fruits, and grilled meat products. There are a few dishes that are a must-try when you're in Hawaii. The first and most famous of these is poke. A medley of delicious local ingredients, often tuna, seaweed, sesame seeds, and soy sauce, poke bowls are ubiquitous across Hawaii, and have even made their way to mainland USA due to their popularity. As for side dishes, you'll likely come across poi on many menus. Made from taro root, a sort of local sweet potato, poi is often served alongside meat or fish. Taro root also starts in Lau lau, where the large leaves of the plant are wrapped around meat or fish, before being cooked in an udnerground oven, resulting in a dish that is incredibly tender.
There are airports on the majority of Hawaiian islands, but the biggest and busiest is Honolulu Airport. This is likely to be the airport that you fly into from outside Hawaii. You can fly to Honolulu Airport direct from Los Angeles LAX Airport in California. From Europe, you'll need to make a connection in LA. You can also get direct flights from Tokyo, Auckland, and Sydney.
You can also fly between Hawaiin islands, often the best (sometimes the only) way to travel between islands.
You can get around some of Hawaii by sea, and it is a fantastic way to appreciate the breathtaking beauty of the island coastlines are you sail between them. There are two passenger ferry services in Hawaii: the Molokai Ferry and the Maui-Lanai Expeditions Ferry. The Molokai Ferry runs between Lahaina, Maui and Molokai and leaves twice daily. The ferry trip takes 90 minutes. The Maui-Lanai Expeditions Ferry leaves five times a day from Lahaina to Lanai, and takes 45 minutes to make the crossing.
Driving in Hawaii is a fantastic way to reach some off-the-beaten path beauties, with a good road system inviting visitors to explore every inch of the islands. Some roads on the less popular islands and destinations can be a little rough, but on the whole, roads are well signposted and maintained to a high standard.
The only public transport option in Hawaii is buses. There are no trains, metros, or trams on the islands. Currently there are no bus services on Lanai and Molokai, but the other islands have got decent networks that can be relied upon to get you to the most popular spots.
