Veranda Palms does not offer its own transportation service to and from the Disney World parks. However, due to its fantastic location, getting there is still very simple and straightforward. You can arrange your own daily transfers by using one of the many local taxi companies, or, as we recommend to our guests, you can hire your own vehicle. We think this is the best option, as hiring your own car means you can work to your own schedule - no need to rush out the house to stick to a bus timetable, or because your driver is outside waiting for you! Make sure your little ones get all the Z’s they need, hop in your car when you and your family are ready, and then make the easy journey to the parks. Your own car makes for a stress-free and simple vacation, and booking it is just as easy too. Getting between the airport and Veranda Palms is nice and easy because the airport is located on the outskirts of the city towards the southeast, whereas Veranda Palms is located on the outskirts to the south. The main route, the FL-417, takes only 27 minutes in good traffic, and covers a distance of 21 miles. The second route, along the FL528, is essentially the same route as the first, with a small detour towards the end which sends you past The Loop, a large shopping and restaurant complex. Both routes are toll roads, and go past Walmart and Publix. The only difference is that the second route goes past the Loop, and takes ever so slightly longer.

When you’re trying to decide when to take your vacation to Orlando, Florida, there are two things you should keep in mind; the weather and how busy it is. If you feel the weather conditions and crowd numbers will have an effect on your getaway, it’s best to do plenty of research so nothing unexpected occurs. In terms of weather, although Orlando typically has very good weather throughout the year, including mild temperatures through the winter months, in summer, it can experience soaring heat and sudden downpours. In this time, you will need to consider bringing plenty of sun block, as well as water proof clothing.

In terms of crowd numbers, Orlando is likely to see a huge influx of visitors in the summer months, and around celebrations and holidays, including the 4th of July, Christmas, Easter, and Spring Break, to name a few. This means that not only will the resorts be more booked out, but wait times and queues at the city’s popular attractions are likely to be a lot longer. If you can, we recommend traveling in spring and fall, outside of popular holidays, as you are very likely to get the best combination of smaller visitor numbers, and beautiful weather.

Veranda Palms is very close to the Disney World parks, with the closest, Hollywood Studios, being just over a quarter of an hour’s drive away, and the furthest park being around a 20 minute drive away.

Universal Studios is just over a twenty minute drive away, at a distance of 13.8 miles.
