Can you fly to Paxos?

No, Paxos doesn’t have an airport, so to reach this island you will need to fly into a nearby, larger island and catch a ferry the rest of the way. 

Is Paxos worth visiting?

Despite the fact that Paxos doesn’t have its own airport and you will need to go through the extra steps of catching a ferry to the island, it is well worth it. This is because you will get to enjoy an experience of a Greek island that is a little more “off-the-beaten-track”, meaning Paxos is an incredibly authentic destination without the crowds you might find in larger, more popular destinations. 

Is Paxos safe?

Yes, Paxos is incredibly safe. It is a little more “off-the-beaten-track” than other popular Greek destinations, meaning you can expect quieter, peaceful towns and beaches, perfect for enjoying a wonderful escape no matter who you are traveling with. However, we do recommend that, as you would anywhere, you take reasonable precautions with your belongings while you’re out and about.

Where is Paxos Greece?

Paxos is a small island located off the west coast of mainland Greece, and found just south of the larger island of Corfu. It makes up one of the 7 islands that form the Ionian Islands archipelago.

How big is Paxos?

Paxos is a very small island covering a total of 25.3 kilometers squared. At the last count, it is estimated to be home to around 2500 citizens.

Where to stay in Paxos?

We have beautiful homes located all over Paxos island, including along the coast to the south, and in the center where you can enjoy incredible views over the surrounding land. Lots of our wonderful vacation rentals are found around the area of Longos, and to the north of the island in Lakka, close to the beaches.

Just 3km south of Paxos is its sister island, Antipaxos, which boasts some of the clearest waters that you'll ever see alongside secluded bays and breathtaking beaches. Ferries between Paxos and Antipaxos run frequently from Gaios.

A natural rock formation that forms part of a sea cave on Paxos' west coast, Tripitos Arch is one of the island's most impressive natural sights. It is possible to take a walk to the arch, where you will be rewarded with spectacular views of the Aegean Sea.
