Orlando International Airport (MCO) is the closest airport to WaterSong, 33.6 miles away. It takes around 45 minutes to drive to the resort from the airport.
WaterSong is surrounded by conservation areas, so there’s a fair chance of you being greeted by some of the local animal inhabitants during your stay. Look out for beautiful Sand Hill Cranes, Turkey Vultures, Egrets, and maybe even the odd alligator or two!
Given its rather more isolated than most other Florida resorts, it is highly recommended to rent a car when staying at WaterSong. Visiting WaterSong, Davenport, and Florida is always going to offer good weather, whenever you decide to go. However, there are some seasons that are better than others. Winter is a very popular time, particularly for snowbirds running away from the harsh winters of the northern states and Canada. The balmy temperatures and low rainfall that Florida enjoys during the winter are irresistible to those wanting a bit of extra vitamin D to propel them through the end of the year. Spring is also a wonderful time for good weather. It’s not yet too hot and sticky (a frequent complaint of visitors to Florida in the summer), but warm enough that you’ll be perfectly comfortable exploring in shorts and t-shirts. Summer and early fall are less ideal weather-wise, as not only are the temperatures and humidity high, but it is also the rainy season, with a higher likelihood of hurricanes on the Atlantic coast.
If you’re heading to Disney, Universal, or other popular Orlando attractions, try and plan your vacation outside of the peak seasons of summer and around Christmas. The crowds will be at their largest, and you will spend a lot of time standing in queues if you visit during these times. Late winter is often the best time to enjoy a relatively relaxed experience at the theme parks.
Dining near WaterSong
There are ample dining options near WaterSong, whether you want something quick and easy or a delicious sit-down meal at a restaurant. ChampionsGate, which is only 7.8 miles away, has got a great choice of eateries and world cuisine, while the nearby town of Celebration is great for family meals. Just 20 minutes west of WaterSong is Haines City, where you will find all manner of family favorites, including Taco Bell, Arby’s, and more.
For groceries, there is a Publix about 5 minutes drive from WaterSong. Within 15 minutes drive you can find an Aldi, Wawa Garage, and a Target. The world’s largest theme park is an utter delight for visitors of all ages, with white-knuckle roller coasters, gentle family rides, and the chance to meet all your favorite characters for the magical world of Disney. From WaterSong, you can easily visit all of the Disney World parks, including Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, and Epcot. You can also cool off in Disney’s awesome waterparks, including the popular Typhoon Lagoon.
Many movie buffs will have Universal Studios right at the top of their dream vacation list, and it’s easy to see why. With countless thrilling rides based on motion pictures throughout history, immersive movie experiences, themed food, and costumed characters, a day at Universal feels like you’ve stepped into the silver screen. The park is designed with guests up to 12 in mind, so if you want to take the kids somewhere different or with a larger amount of kid-centric rides, Legoland is a great bet.
Just 3 miles away from WaterSong, Providence Golf Course is an 18-hole course open to both members and non-members, with incredibly scenic views of the Davenport landscape.
The world-class courses at ChampionsGate attract serious golfing enthusiasts to the challenging and rewarding 18 holes designed by renowned architect and player Greg Norman. There are two courses at ChampionsGate; the International, which is very challenging, and the National, which is more accessible to the non-professional among us. You can be at the ChampionsGate golf courses in under 15 minutes from WaterSong.
This popular mall is the place to go for designer labels. The architecturally impressive building houses international labels such as Abercrombie and Fitch, Burberry, Gucci, and Jimmy Choo, among many others. The Mall at Millenia is located on International Drive and is just over half an hour’s drive from WaterSong.
