When deciding when to take your vacation or Orlando, you should think about two things; what the weather will be like, and how busy it will be. In the peak summer months, that’s late June, July and August, most people are on break from school and work, and choose that time to travel. That means, especially if you are visiting the theme parks near Formosa Valley, that it may get significantly busier, and you can expect longer wait times for the rides and attractions. This is also true of other times of year when schools are broken up, including over the festive period and spring break. If you can travel outside these peak visiting times, you may find Orlando is much quieter.
In terms of weather, throughout the summer months, not only will you experience very high temperatures, but there is also a good chance of sudden bursts of rain. These shouldn’t affect your vacation too much, however, because these are typically warm and are over as soon as they begin. Throughout the rest of the year, you will find very dry weather, and comfortably warm temperatures. Overall, if it is possible, we recommend visiting Orlando and staying in Formosa Valley between September and early December, and mid-January to May, as you will find the perfect balance between crowd numbers and beautiful weather.
The main airport in Orlando is Orlando International, which is located on the outskirts of the city in the southeast. Formosa Valley Resort, on the other hand, is located on the outskirts in the southwest. There are two main ways to get between the two, with the main and fastest route being along the FL-528. This takes 29 minutes in good traffic and covers 27.7 miles. Please note this is a toll road. However, it passes several large shops, such as Walmart and Publix, which makes it the perfect route to choose if you are planning on stopping off to pick up any last minute bits for your vacation.
The second route is also a toll road, and takes half an hour, covering 27.8 miles. Due to the very slight difference in time, the fact that there are tolls on both routes, but only the first way passes some useful stores, we recommend taking the FL-528.
You can arrange shuttle transportation with Formosa Valley Resort once your booking is complete. However, if you prefer a sense of complete freedom, we highly recommend instead hiring your own vehicle. Formosa Valley Resort is located close to Disney parks. Animal Kingdom is the closest, which is a 14 minute drive away, whilst Magic Kingdom is the furthest away with a 16 minute drive.
Universal Studios is not too far from the resort, at a distance of just under 20 miles away. The drive between the two tends to take around 25 minutes.

Formosa Valley Resort is located 27.4 miles (32-minute drive) from Orlando International Airport (MCO) and 13.4 miles (29-minute drive) from Kissimmee Airport (ISM-Kissimmee Gateway). Formosa Valley Resort can easily be reached from the airport by taxi, car or shuttle.
Driving in Orlando
Driving in Kissimmee and Orlando is extremely easy, thanks to their wide road networks. If heading to the Disney parks, it's best to leave first thing in the morning, before the parks open. This will leave you with plenty of time to explore!

Taxis offer a convenient door-to-door collection and drop off service, without the hassle of driving and parking. Uber and a number of taxi companies operate in and around the Formosa Valley Resort and wider Kissimmee-Orlando area.
Things to do near Formosa Valley Resort
Formosa Valley Resort is 3 miles from Mystic Dunes Golf Course, so if you love to spend a few hours out on the green, then this is the place to go. If you love golf but want to make sure your little ones are included, there is also a thrilling mini-golf course nearby, called Mighty Jungle Golf. Besides these two venues, there are plenty more golfing opportunities in and around Kissimmee and Four Corners, including the famed courses at Championsgate resort (10 miles drive away) and Reunion Resort (13 miles away).
The perfect location of Formosa Valley Resort means you are also very close to the most popular attractions in Orlando; the Disney World parks. In fact, Walt Disney World is just an 8 minute's drive away! You'll also find Hollywood Studios, Disney Springs, and Animal Kingdom all 13-19 minutes' drive away. Water fans are also well placed for soaking up Disney's Blizzard Reach Waterpark and Typhoon Lagoon Waterpark (13-15 minutes' drive away). That means you can really make the most of your DIsney vacation without spending hours in the car to get there. You are also very close to Disney’s Blizzard Beach water park, Disney Springs, International Drive, and Universal Studios, so you can be certain of a jam-packed vacation full of exciting activities.
