When you’re deciding when to visit Eagle Trace Orlando, you need to take two main things into consideration; what the weather will be like, and how busy it will be. Though Orlando is renowned for year round sunshine, meaning warm winters and very hot summers, you might wish to avoid traveling in the summer. This is because temperatures can soar, and you will need to take extra care of your skin and to stay hydrated. Furthermore, in the summer, Orlando can also experience sudden downpours as well as the high heat, though these tend to be very short and not cold at all. Nonetheless, if you travel in summer, make sure you have sunblock, plenty of H2O, and your waterproofs. Overall, we recommend traveling in late fall up until Christmas, and from mid-January up until around late May or early June.

When taking into account how busy Orlando will be for your vacation, the main thing you need to consider is traveling in peak times and around holidays, and whether or not larger crowds and longer queues at Orlando’s top attractions is likely to affect you and your family. If you would like to enjoy a quieter experience of Orlando, we recommend visiting in fall or spring outside of any celebrations.

There are two main routes between the main airport, Orlando International (MCO) and Eagle Trace at Reunion. The first route, via the FL-528, runs further north and passes by the Orlando Watersports Complex and Crayola Experience. This route takes half an hour in good traffic, covering a distance of 28 miles. Please note that there is a toll road, so prepare accordingly. The second route along the FL-417 is also 30 minutes, covers 28 miles, and is a toll road, but you may wish to go this way as it passes by a Walmart, a Sedano’s Supermarket, and Target, which is perfect if you need to stop off to pick up any last minute items.

Yes, guests who stay at Eagle Trace Resort have access to a complimentary shuttle to and from the Disney parks. These vehicles are air-conditioned, and provide a comfortable journey for you and your family. The bus departs from the Reunion Grande, and you need to book in advance, so visit the clubhouse for more information.

However, if you would prefer to enjoy complete freedom and flexibility on your vacation, we recommend booking your own vehicle for use for the duration of your getaway. Eagle Trace is in a fantastic location, close to the Disney World parks. The closest park is Animal Kingdom, which takes just over a quarter of an hour’s drive in good traffic. The park that is furthest away, Epcot, still only takes around 17 minutes in good traffic, so rest assured getting to Disney World is easy when you stay at Eagle Trace.

Eagle Trace is just under 20 miles away from Universal, which means you can expect a drive time of around 25 minutes in good traffic to the theme park.
