Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party

Disney World Christmas 2026

Christmas at Disney World brings festive decorations, seasonal entertainment, special events, character appearances, Christmas food and some of the biggest celebrations of the year to Walt Disney World.

For 2026, the wider holiday season at Walt Disney World runs from November 13, 2026 to January 6, 2027, although some separately ticketed Christmas events begin slightly earlier.

Magic Kingdom hosts Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, Hollywood Studios brings back Disney Jollywood Nights, EPCOT celebrates traditions from around the world during the International Festival of the Holidays, and Animal Kingdom adds festive decorations and seasonal entertainment of its own.

If you’re planning a Christmas vacation in Orlando, explore our villas near Disney World for homes close to all four Disney theme parks.

When does Disney World decorate for Christmas?

The Christmas transformation begins after the Halloween season, with decorations appearing around Walt Disney World during November.

Magic Kingdom is one of the first places where the change becomes obvious, particularly along Main Street, U.S.A., where wreaths, garlands, shop displays and the enormous Christmas tree create the traditional Disney Christmas setting.

Other parks introduce their own decorations and seasonal experiences as the month progresses. Disney’s official 2026 holiday season begins on November 13, so visitors traveling from mid-November onwards can expect Christmas to be well underway across Walt Disney World.

The festive season then continues beyond Christmas Day and New Year, with Walt Disney World’s wider holiday celebrations scheduled through January 6, 2027.

Christmas at Magic Kingdom

Magic Kingdom is at the center of many of Disney World’s best-known Christmas traditions.

Main Street, U.S.A. is decorated with garlands, wreaths, lights and a huge Christmas tree, Cinderella Castle becomes the backdrop for seasonal entertainment, and several attractions receive festive additions.

If you’re planning a full day here, our Guide to Magic Kingdom covers the park’s rides, restaurants, tickets and other useful planning information.

Disney World Christmas Parade

Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade is one of the signature attractions of Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party.

The procession travels through Magic Kingdom with Disney characters, dancing gingerbread figures, marching toy soldiers, festive floats and an appearance from Santa Claus.

The parade is part of the separately ticketed Christmas party, so standard daytime admission alone does not give you access to party performances.

Main Street, U.S.A. is an especially popular place to watch because the parade combines with the festive surroundings and simulated snowfall.

Frozen Holiday Surprise at Cinderella Castle

Cinderella Castle becomes part of the Christmas celebrations through Frozen Holiday Surprise.

Elsa, Anna, Olaf, Kristoff and the Snowgies appear as Cinderella Castle is transformed with wintry projections and effects.

It adds another major festive experience to the area around the castle and works particularly well alongside the decorations, entertainment and Christmas atmosphere found throughout Magic Kingdom.

Jingle Cruise

Jungle Cruise receives its seasonal transformation into Jingle Cruise, with Christmas decorations and holiday-themed jokes added to the familiar attraction.

Unlike many of the special party experiences, Jingle Cruise can also be enjoyed during normal park hours, making it one of the easiest Christmas attractions to include without buying a ticket to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party.

Christmas at Hollywood Studios

Christmas at Disney’s Hollywood Studios has a noticeably different feel to Magic Kingdom.

The park mixes vintage Hollywood styling with oversized decorations, projections, music, seasonal character appearances and Christmas touches around areas such as Toy Story Land.

Sunset Seasons Greetings also transforms the Hollywood Tower Hotel with festive projections after dark.

For rides, restaurants, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge and general park planning, see our Guide to Hollywood Studios.

Disney Jollywood Nights 2026

Where: Disney’s Hollywood Studios

When: Select nights from November 7, 2026 to January 5, 2027

Time: 7.30pm to 12.30am

Event entry: From 5.30pm for ticket holders

Disney Jollywood Nights combines Christmas with Hollywood-style evening entertainment.

The separately ticketed five-hour event includes live performances, special character encounters, party-exclusive entertainment, Christmas food, photo opportunities and access to selected Hollywood Studios attractions.

For 2026, highlights include:

  • Disney Holidays in Hollywood

  • What’s This? Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas Sing-Along

  • Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM!

  • Glisten! ice-skating performances

  • Echo Lake Holiday Celebration

  • Pixar Disco

  • Twilight Soirée at the Tip Top Club

  • More than 20 character experiences

  • Disney PhotoPass downloads from the event

  • Selected rides with potentially lower wait times

  • Special Christmas food and drinks

Characters announced to return include Mickey and Minnie, Santa Stitch, Phineas and Ferb, Duffy, The Mandalorian and Grogu, Chewbacca, Donald and Daisy, Goofy and Pluto, plus several Pixar characters.

Disney Jollywood Nights dates

November 2026: 7, 14, 16, 21, 23 and 28.

December 2026: 5, 7, 12, 14, 19, 21 and 23.

January 2027: 3 and 5.

Guests with a Jollywood Nights ticket can enter Disney’s Hollywood Studios from 5.30pm without needing an additional daytime theme park ticket for that evening.

The Nightmare Before Christmas Sing-Along

What’s This? Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas Sing-Along returns as part of Disney Jollywood Nights.

The show takes place at Hyperion Theater and follows Jack Skellington through a larger-than-life musical experience inspired by The Nightmare Before Christmas. The festive event is exclusive to Disney Jollywood Nights, so you will need a valid event ticket to see it.

Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM!

Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM! is Hollywood Studios’ party-exclusive Christmas nighttime spectacular.

Scenes inspired by Disney movies are projected onto the Chinese Theater alongside music, lasers, lights and fireworks. The event is another experience reserved for Disney Jollywood Nights rather than regular daytime admission.

Christmas at EPCOT

EPCOT takes a more international approach to Christmas, with seasonal food, music, storytelling and traditions from different countries around World Showcase.

The main event is EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays, which runs later than some of Disney World’s other Christmas celebrations. Our full Guide to EPCOT has more information on the park’s attractions, restaurants and festivals throughout the year.

EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays 2026

Where: EPCOT

When: November 27 to December 30, 2026

EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays celebrates Christmas and other seasonal traditions from around the world.

Unlike Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party and Disney Jollywood Nights, the festival is included with valid EPCOT park admission.

Highlights include:

  • Candlelight Processional

  • Holiday Storytellers around World Showcase

  • Seasonal food and drinks

  • Holiday Kitchens

  • Character appearances

  • Festive entertainment

  • Traditions from countries around World Showcase

  • Christmas decorations throughout the park

  • Candlelight Processional

The Candlelight Processional is one of EPCOT’s biggest Christmas traditions.

Held at America Gardens Theatre, the show retells the Christmas story with a celebrity narrator, massed choir and 50-piece orchestra. Performances take place during EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays, with narrator line-ups and individual performance schedules varying throughout the festival.

Holiday Storytellers

World Showcase also introduces visitors to Christmas and winter traditions from different cultures.

Holiday Storytellers appear around the pavilions to share seasonal stories, legends, music and traditions associated with countries around the world. It is one of the best ways to explore EPCOT at a slower pace instead of moving directly from one major ride to the next.

Living with the Land Glimmering Greenhouses

Living with the Land receives its own Christmas makeover, with Glimmering Greenhouses.

Festive lights and decorations are added throughout the attraction’s working greenhouses, creating a seasonal version of one of EPCOT’s more relaxed rides.

Christmas at Animal Kingdom

Animal Kingdom celebrates Christmas without losing the wildlife and nature themes that make the park distinctive.

Discovery Island is home to the Merry Menagerie, featuring handcrafted animal puppets inspired by winter wildlife, including penguins, polar bears, foxes and reindeer.

The park also adds Christmas music and decorations, while a towering festive tree welcomes guests near the entrance. Harambe receives its own seasonal touches using decorations influenced by African textiles and materials, helping Christmas at Animal Kingdom feel different from the more traditional decorations at Magic Kingdom.

Read our Guide to Animal Kingdom if you’re planning rides, safari experiences and restaurants alongside the Christmas activities.

Disney World Christmas food

Seasonal food forms a major part of Christmas at Disney World, with limited-time desserts, snacks and drinks appearing across the parks.

Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party includes selected cookies and holiday drinks as part of the event ticket, while additional themed food can be purchased around Magic Kingdom.

Jollywood Nights has its own selection of party-exclusive dishes, desserts and drinks, while EPCOT’s Holiday Kitchens offer one of the widest ranges of seasonal food thanks to the international focus of Festival of the Holidays.

Exact menus can change throughout the season, so it is worth checking current menus shortly before your visit if Christmas food is a major part of your plans.

Disney World Christmas merchandise

Christmas merchandise appears throughout Walt Disney World during the festive season.

Collections usually include seasonal clothing, Christmas ornaments, Mickey ears, mugs, bags, plush characters and other limited-edition items.

Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party and Jollywood Nights also offer event merchandise that is tied specifically to each celebration.

For year-round Christmas shopping, Disney’s Days of Christmas at Disney Springs is another useful stop, with ornaments and festive decorations available beyond the main holiday period.

Because individual products and prices change each year, it is better to check the current collection during your visit rather than relying on older merchandise lists.

When is the best time to visit Disney World for Christmas?

The right dates depend on which Christmas experiences matter most to you.

  • Mid to late November: This is a useful period if you want to see the parks decorated for Christmas while visiting before the busiest Christmas and New Year weeks. Keep in mind that EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays does not begin until November 27 in 2026.

  • Early December: Early December offers one of the broadest combinations of Disney Christmas experiences. Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, Jollywood Nights and EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays are all running on selected dates during this period, while Christmas decorations are already in place across Walt Disney World.

  • Christmas week: Visiting over Christmas itself gives you the full festive atmosphere, but December 24 through New Year is traditionally one of Walt Disney World’s busiest periods. If you are traveling during this week, planning your park days, dining and event tickets well in advance is particularly useful.

Tips for visiting Disney World at Christmas

Christmas is one of the busiest times to visit Walt Disney World, so a little planning can make a big difference.

  • Check party dates: Magic Kingdom closes earlier to regular guests on Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party nights. Check the event calendar before choosing your park days.

  • Book early: Christmas party tickets, restaurants and accommodation can fill up quickly, especially in December. Book your main plans as early as possible.

  • Decide which events you want to see: You can enjoy plenty of Christmas decorations and entertainment without a special event ticket. If you want to see Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party or Jollywood Nights, plan these into your itinerary first.

  • Leave time to enjoy the atmosphere: Don’t try to fill every hour with rides. Make time for the decorations, seasonal food, World Showcase, Main Street, U.S.A. and the parks after dark.
