Getting to Alpe d’Huez from UK & Europe

By Plane

The nearest airports to Alpe d’Huez are Grenoble (1.5 hours), Lyon (2 hours), and Geneva (3 hours). From there, you can take a transfer, use a car hire, or use shuttle services directly to the resort.

By Rail

While Alpe d’Huez does not have its own train station, the closest major rail hub is Grenoble. From Grenoble station, it’s just under 1.5 hours by car or transfer up to the resort. High-speed TGV and Eurostar services connect Grenoble with Paris, Lyon, and London.

By Road

Driving to Alpe d’Huez is straightforward, with well-maintained roads leading to the resort. From Grenoble, it’s about 1.5 hours via the scenic hairpin turns of the famous Route de l’Alpe. Parking is available in resort, including both free and paid options, as well as at Alpe d' Huez chalets and rentals with private parking included in the rental rate.
