Description
Nonno Fernando is a character-filled stone farmhouse in Le Fosse, Tuscany, surrounded by the beauty of the Tuscan countryside and just a short drive from the medieval hill town of Cortona. Dating back to the early 19th century, the home has been thoughtfully renovated to preserve its original charm, with chestnut ceiling beams, terracotta floors and a traditional layout that gives it a wonderfully authentic feel. Sleeping up to 14 guests, the property offers seven inviting bedrooms and eight bathrooms, making it ideal for large families or groups of friends. The main house features a spacious living room, a dining room with fireplace and a fully equipped kitchen, all linked by elegant archways, while the separate annexes add extra privacy and flexibility. Every bedroom has an en-suite bathroom, and the annexes also include their own small sitting room and kitchenette. Air conditioning, WiFi, satellite TV, a DVD player, laundry facilities, parking, and included bedding and towels all add to a comfortable stay.
Outside, the estate opens onto 18 hectares of scenic grounds filled with olive trees, elms and an orchard of walnuts, figs and pomegranates. The beautifully maintained garden is dotted with colourful flowerbeds, lavender and gazebos that invite long, lazy afternoons outdoors. A private fenced swimming pool sits around 70 metres from the house, framed by lawns, terracotta paving, sun loungers and shaded seating areas that are perfect for relaxing with a glass of wine and soaking in the views toward Cortona’s hillside. There is also a brick barbecue and outdoor dining space for memorable al fresco meals, along with table tennis and table football for a little friendly competition. Welcoming children and pets alike, this peaceful countryside retreat is a wonderful base for enjoying Tuscany’s landscapes, villages and celebrated food and wine.
