Stayed Aug 13 - "We chose Villa 5061 as our base for 5-year classmate reunion. As soon as we walked into the villa, we girls couldn't help but exclaiming with surprise for the massive space, infinity pool, entertainment room (later on become our "massage room"), and spacious bedrooms- it was as beautiful as it looks on the website, if not better. The location is private, on the top of a hill, and it provides a great common area, the kitchen connecting the living room connecting the pool, for us to hang out and catch up. When we arrived, the manager, Birth, was there waiting, showing us our home for the next few days and explaining everything we have in mind. During the stay, he helped to arrange our food, one-day tours to other islands, massages (the service provided could have been better though), and even collected money from us (for the tour) at where we were when we couldn't make it back to the villa. I couldn't ask for more from a dedicated and detailed oriented villa manager. The helper, Pin was a warm-hearted lady with a beautiful smile who prepared breakfast for us and helped to keep our space tidy. The flexibility and the friendly personal interaction she provided (we bought some eggs to add variety in our breakfast menu) was something you can't get staying in a hotel. The last and most important person to us for this trip is the driver, Mr. Noom. Since we had total 6 people traveling, his van was a comfortable option to fit us all, otherwise we would have to call 2 taxi every time we went out. We asked him to pick us up or drop us off almost during the whole trip (especially after we experienced some taxi refusing to take us up to the hill and made us walk up from the Villa's gate), and he was never annoyed when we, as tourists, wanted to exchange some money or buy some local fruits on the way, or stay out late to enjoy a luxurious seaside bar. To me, the people we encountered during a trip is as important as the views, beaches, and food the place provides. We were lucky to have a team that make us feel home and well taken care of- which I would say to be the most important reason to choose staying in a villa instead of a hotel. We had wonderful memories staying in Samui Island Villas, and I recommend people who travel as a group to experience it themselves."
