3-bedroom, 3-bathroom intimate, earthy, and distinctive villa in Flamands.

Terrific sea views are one of the hallmarks of the newly built Villa Santa Alicia in Flamands. The living room and kitchen are wide open to the weathered-wood deck, and each of the two bedrooms has a private deck with that captivating watery vista. Sumptuous, organic-feeling materials are used throughout, such as the shimmering golden mosaic tiles in the bathrooms, reminiscent of iridescent sea creatures, and the clay washbasins on their double vanities. Persimmon-colored walls in the living area and open-air kitchen, which are unusual in the island vernacular of St. Barth, enhance the warm, connected-to-nature feeling of Villa Santa Alicia, and leafy plants add life to many corners of the luxury rental property.

For all of its sweeping panoramas, the vacation home maintains the feeling of an intimate retreat, a private escape for just one couple (or maybe two couples or a small family). It's modern but cozy, enticing, and welcoming, feeling up to date while paying homage to the island's colonial past. Concierge can arrange unique surprises that will add to the romance, such as private wine tastings or couples massages.

The large, open-plan living area merges into the sleek, well-equipped kitchen, and both open onto the deck, where a small but stunning infinity pull unfurls toward the sunset.

Villa Santa Alicia has large open plan living room with an inviting sitting area around the TV and a kitchen to one side. The living room, dining area, and the terrace flow into each other. The dining table sits right in front of the pool. Flamands Bay is on view from every point. The two bedrooms downstairs are roughly equal in size and have charming colonial details like carved mahogany four-posted Euro king beds and louvred doors for privacy.

Although the villa is very convenient to Flamands Beach, which is just a five-minute drive away, it has the ambience of being a world apart. The journey is short, but the hill is rugged. A 4x4 car is recommended. (Again, concierge can make the arrangements.)
