About our Brac villas
Stunning Brac is one of the largest islands in Croatia and is home to probably the most famous beach in the country. Locally, it is called Zlatni Rat, but it has earned the nickname The Golden Horn, for the unique bank of sand which juts out into the impossibly blue sea. Elsewhere on the island, you’ll find green wooded areas, charming seafront towns, and fantastic local food and drink. Brac is renowned for its agriculture, particularly soft fruits and wine, so make sure you sample some while you’re there!
Our Brac villas are wonderful, traditional homes that are just perfect for exploring this beautiful destination. Complete with pretty red roofs and rustic stone facades, these charming homes blend seamlessly into their surroundings, offering the chance for a truly authentic experience staying on the alluring island of Brac. On top of this, they come with everything you need for an unforgettable getaway, including private pools, close proximity to Brac’s pretty towns, and stunning sea views, so you can ensure you and your loved ones will have the holiday of a lifetime with every comfort and detail considered.
Brac is an island in Croatia located off the coast of the South of the country. If you were to look at Brac on a map, you would see that the island stretches the length of the coast between the popular destination of Split, and the beautiful port town of Makarska.
Split is located on the coast of Croatia, with Brac not too far away from the shore, nestled in the Adriatic sea. In terms of the distance from Split’s port, to Supertar on the island of Brac, it is approximately a one hour and twenty minute journey by ferry, covering a total of just under eighteen kilometers.
The best way to get from Split Airport to Brac is to catch public transport from the airport, for example, a taxi transfer, to Split’s port. From there, you can hop on a ferry that will make the short crossing between mainland Croatia and the island of Brac. The ferry will stop in the port town of Supetar, where you can then sort out your onward travel.
The ferry between Split and Brac can cost in the range of 28 to 33 Croatian Kuna, which is about 4 to 5 dollars per person.
Yes, you can hire a car from one of the car hire companies located at the port of Supetar, which is where your ferry will land if you are coming to the island from Split. Alternatively, you can hire a car at Split Airport when you first arrive, and take it on the ferry that will take you to the island.
If you are staying close to the port you will arrive in, Supetar, you may not need to hire a car. However, if you want to explore a little further afield on the island, you may appreciate the flexibility and accessibility that hiring a car provides you with. If you don’t want to drive, you could also make use of the local taxis available on Brac, or make use of the bus network, which will take you to most of the tourist hotspots on the island.
Luxury accommodation is in abundance across the island of Brac. From stunning homes located on the center of the island, wrapped in the calming, and authentic rural atmosphere that comes from being nestled deep within the heart of Brac’s stunning scenery, to homes located close to the coast with stunning views over the Adriatic. Being a small island, if you hire a car you will easily be able to reach all of the tourist attractions and hot spots on Brac from your sumptuous accommodation.
For one of the most beautiful beaches on the Adriatic, head to Zlatni Rat Beach, also known as the “Golden Horn.” An iconic stretch of fine sand and sparkling clear waters, it would be all too easy to wile your day away here. If you want to get a bird’s eye view and take in the true beauty of the Golden Horn, head up Vidova Gora, a nearby mountain you can hike and take in the stunning views from the top. For a slice of Brac culture, you can head to the Blaca Hermitage to the South of the island; a stunning stone Monastery founded in 1551.
