Family Stay at Murvica 1
We were delighted with our stay overall. Before arrival we received contact from the Villa Owner/Manager who provided directions and made herself available for arrival and a very useful walk around to show us everything. We were surprised at how equipped the Villa Kitchen was, making it very useful for home cooking although we did eat out as well (some very lovely restaurants in nearby Bol); equally we were surprised that some basics of bread, milk, juice and fruit had been provided. Unsure if this is a regular thing but a very nice touch when you arrive with hungry kids and needing to find the shops or unpack. We shopped at a large supermarket in Supetar after the ferry before making the journey to the villa. Nearby, the closest but much smaller supermarkets are in Bol. The Villa sits overlooking the Bay and I can assure you that the pictures here don't do this view justice at all. It is stunning. A small beach sits at the foot of the hills with a cash only beach bar. Note - all the beaches are pebble and I'd recommend wet shoes. Inside the Villa the lighting is lovely and sets lots of mood in the evenings, and the outdoor pizza oven is a nice touch, which we used (although cheated by part cooking in the indoor oven before bringing the breads outside); Smart TV in all rooms to access Netflix if you need that; very good modern bathrooms with showers (no bath). The owner provided assistance with a local doctor that we needed during our stay, provided some excellent restaurant recommendations, which we used and were more than happy; and she came to check in with us the day before departure, really just to make sure we had a good time and enjoyed our stay - Ivana is lovely and very genuine, we were grateful for her throughout the week. Overall, we were delighted with our stay. For anyone travelling via Ferry, we hired a car from Split airport and had around a 45 min drive to Split Harbour, and were fortunate to get straight on the ferry to Supetar - around 50 mins. From here, its a fairly cross country ride for about 50 mins to the Villa. For our departure Ferry on return trip, we were unlucky not to get the one we thought we were in for having waited circa 50 mins; and had to wait another 45 mins for the next. There are lots of places to eat drink and grab an ice-cream though.The lesson is that ferry's can be hit an miss. We booked a return trip via the ferry website and this asks for departure times - but the reality is, its a first come first served scenario - so plan ahead and leave early, especially if you have a flight to catch on your return leg. Again, something Ivana helped us with and made sure we targeted the earlier ferry, which we just missed by 2/3 cars.
