Casale Le Querce di Cetona is a 19th century farmhouse that has been renovated by salvaging the original materials, integrated with local craftsmanship: Barberino stone for the walls, antique terracotta floors laid upside down, exposed chestnut beams. The large bright sitting room, connected to the kitchen, with exits to the garden and to the terrace with pergola, invites you to relax while sipping a glass of red wine or reading a book. The living area is a single environment punctuated by chestnut beams and white plastered arches that create defined spaces: the sitting room for convivial moments, the large fully-equipped kitchen allows that freedom of use needed for a stay in a country home. We are in Cetona, a medieval borgo in southern Tuscany, in a countryside with a unique scenario that offers many opportunities for those who love horse riding, jogging, excursions and mountain biking. The territory is famous for the numerous opportunities that it offers, allowing you to range from naturalistic beauties to those dedicated to relaxation given the proximity to the Terme di Chianciano and San Casciano, passing through food and wine tours and itineraries rich in history as evidenced by the numerous sites of archaeological interest.
The 200 sq m house has three floors connected by an internal wooden staircase and an external terracotta staircase. On the ground floor the main entrance opens into the sitting room connected to the kitchen with dining table. Both rooms have direct exit to the garden, the kitchen near the pergola with outdoor dining table, the sitting room via a service entrance which facilitates access to the laundry room and to the two uncovered parking spaces within the property. The ground floor is completed by a guest bathroom.
From the sitting room the staircase leads to the first mezzanine floor composed of a space with study and wardrobes and with exit to the garden, and a double bedroom with king size bed and ensuite bathroom with tub and shower. Three steps lead up to the passageway with wardrobes on the first floor onto which open a single bedroom going up five internal steps, another double bedroom, a single bedroom with queen size bed, and a bathroom with tub. From the passageway on the first floor the staircase leads to the second floor composed of a study and a double bedroom with en-suite bathroom with tub. (N.B. The fireplace is ornamental).
The swimming pool of Casale Le Querce di Cetona is 15 m from the house, facing west and located on a higher level than the ground floor. From the secondary entrance, it is reached up 9 stone steps from the pergola across the lawn. Rectangular and measuring 12 x 6 m with the depth varying from 0.80 to 2.30 m, it is lined in white PVC and has chlorine purification, internal manually-operated LED lights, a diving board and two metal ladders for access to the water. The solarium, in untreated natural terracotta and mixed lawn, is equipped with sunbeds, two umbrellas, a hammock, a pergola in wood and reeds and manually-operated lights. Six metres from the pool is the changing room with hot shower and bathroom. The pool is available to guests from the last Saturday in April to the first Saturday in October.
The park of Casale Le Querce di Cetona extends over a terrain of three hectares. The part around the house (1500 sq m), enclosed by wire mesh and hedges, is mixed lawn with olive and oak trees to ensure pleasant shaded areas. Oleanders, helichrysum, photinias, broom, rosemary and laurel perfume the summer air and in the sloping part of the terrain are cypresses and shrubs typical of the Sienese area. The wooden wisteria-covered pergola connected to the house, and located a few metres from the kitchen French window, is used as an outdoor dining area with gas barbecue. On the natural stone-paved terrace, in front of the kitchen, are a table, chairs and umbrella inviting you to pleasant outdoor meals. Past the automatic vehicle gate, a gravel drive leads to two uncovered parking spaces in front of the secondary entrance to the house next to the laundry room. From here, twenty stone steps lead up to the main entrance into the sitting room. From the garden in front of the pergola, descending fifteen stone steps, the pedestrian gate leads to the parking area with three covered spaces on the other side of the consortium road.
