It’s spring so it’s time for Epcot’s beautiful Flower and Garden International Festival. This Disney Park celebrates flowers and gardens from around the world from 6th March to the 19th May.
There’s still time to book your vacation rental; in fact you might even get yourself a late deal luxury Orlando villa during this period. One thing that is good is that all our villas in the area are close to Disney but because of the great private, gated resorts you won’t realise it.
What is it?
The Flower and Garden International Festival is a celebration of everything growing. Huge splashes of colour will greet you in planted beds of plants; creativity and imagination will be tapped in the many Disney topiaries that you will see throughout the Park including a 14 foot Goofy and there will additional events to keep everyone entertained.
Many designers from popular HGTV will give demonstrations and there will be interactive areas designed especially with the kids in mind. Of course there will be daily gardening seminars so that everyone’s garden can be beautiful. There will also be this year’s Flower Power Concert Series to entertain everyone with some great live performances taking you right back to Flower Power times of the 1960s and 70s.
The demonstrations : there are some big-name stars from the gardening and DIY sector including Chris Lambton with ‘Going Yard’, Meg Caswell with ‘Meg’s Great Rooms, Jason Cameron, ‘Desperate Landscapes and Man Caves and Brandon Johnson with ‘My Yard goes Disney’.
You can see one of these guys demonstrate every Friday, Saturday and Sunday throughout the event. See the Disney website for who appears when.
The Flower Power Concert Series also on at weekends has a full line-up of 1960s and 70s stars with a new twist including Chubby Checker and the Wildcats; Herman’s Hermits starring Peter Noone, The Village People, The Turtles featuring Flo and Eddie and The Orchestra including members of the original ELO and ELO II. Again check out the website for who’s playing when.
There will be 12 marketplace kiosks selling food and drink from around the world during the festival serving everything from smokehouse and BBQ delights to fresh fruit.
