All of the fish on offer is sourced directly from the Gulf and the Atlantic. Fresh seafood is picked up by the restaurant 6 times a week, sometimes even twice a day!

Slate’s

With live jazz music and authentic cajun cuisine, Slate’s has brought a real taste of New Orleans to Florida.

Before opening Slate’s in 2013, restaurant owners Al and Nancy Cotter were already well known in the industry. After previously running the famous Blue Moon Restaurant and Jazz Club in Saint Croix, the couple originally moved to Cape Coral to retire… Thankfully, that didn’t last long!

Hidden on a side street, just off the Cape Coral Parkway, Slate is both a restaurant and a jazz club. Their popular menu offers an eclectic mix of cajun and caribbean dishes – all served a side of live music!

Slates restaurant in Cape Coral

Although the restaurant falls into the fine dining category, the tempting menu offers a selection of delicious home-cooked comfort food, such as fried chicken and Louisiana-style shrimp and grits.

As chef Al Cotter specializes in Caribbean cuisine, we recommend trying one of his creole classics, such as the delicious jambalaya, cajun gumbo or crawfish etouffee.

Everything on the menu is created completely from scratch and made to order. If you’re not keen on spice, or don’t like a particular ingredient, the chef will happily alter your dish accordingly.
