If you need a little inspiration before you book here’s a rundown of ideas for the February half-term holidays:

Orlando, Florida

What will the weather be like?

The weather in Orlando is fantastic during the February half-term. Sunny enough to head out and about but nowhere near as hot as the sweltering summer months. You can expect around 8 hours of sunshine a day with temperatures in the high 60s so it’s perfect weather for playing golf, visiting the theme parks or making a splash at the water parks.

February is also good month for avoiding the tourist crowds as the hubbub of Spring Break is still a way off. Flights will be more expensive during the school holidays but you’re likely to find some great last-minute deals on accommodation in Orlando.

What’s the flight time?

The average flight time from London to Orlando is around 9 hours.

Things to do

Chamonix is one of the highest and most famous ski resorts in France. It’s also home to Mont Blanc, the highest mountain range in Europe. It boasts stunning surroundings and a whole load of family-friendly attractions that make it perfect for the February half-term holidays.

The half-term week is pretty busy on the slopes but you shouldn’t let that put you off. You can avoid the waiting times by pre-ordering your lift passes, and you can book skiing lessons so you won’t have to queue for the lifts. Dining in-chalet is a great way to avoid the busy restaurants, and you can even take a packed lunch out onto the slopes.

It’s not all about just skiing either. Chamonix is a great place for non-ski activities like husky dog rides, hiking and snowshoeing. You can chill out at a spa or visit the surrounding towns with their great shops and buzzing après ski.
