With Disney World Orlando announcing some welcome news for the summer, Yaz and Ash are here to round up the top 3 park updates. Get ready to jump for joy!
The top 3 Disney World Orlando updates
#1 The Fireworks are back
For firework fans, this spells amazing news. The Happily Ever After display at Magic Kingdom happen to be Yaz and Ash’s favorite. So needless to say, they’re super excited by this news!
The world-class nighttime display places Cinderella’s Castle at center stage. Incredible projection mapping, lasers, searchlights and pyrotechnics bring the fairytale castle to life. For over 20 spellbinding minutes, spectators will go on a mesmerizing journey. With songs from some of Disney’s best-loved characters, color-coordinated displays and fireworks to bring the magic alive, there really is no better way to experience Disney.
Running from July 1 through September 29, you’ll be able to catch the nightly display at 9.15pm (due to extended park hours this July). The evening times will vary from August onwards, so stay tuned on the official site! From October 1, Disney’s Enchantment will replace the Happily Ever After display, in time for the Walt Disney World 50th Anniversary celebrations. Enchantment will run for 18 months, so don’t miss it! A great tip is that if you’re unable to watch the fireworks from the park, make a Disney dining reservation at one of the 3 Magic Kingdom resorts. You’ll find the resorts offer the perfect viewpoint and are easily accessible by monorail.
Another popular firework display to return is Epcot Forever at Epcot. Having returned from July 1, this popular display is currently entertaining spectators all summer long. In place of the kites are now an expanded array of pyrotechnics. Replacing this display will be the much anticipated Harmonious, which will debut on October 1, to mark the Walt Disney World 50th Anniversary. Set to be the largest nighttime spectacular held at Walt Disney World, expect to be transported to a world of infinite inspiration and possibility!
#2 The Disney Dining Plan will be coming back soon
It has been announced that the Disney Dining Plan packages will soon be making a return (with dates yet to be confirmed). One for the foodies fans, the Disney Dining Plan is designed to suit all dining tastes and budgets. The pre-purchased Dining Plans are added onto a Disney vacation package. This enables resort guests to dine away without paying. Points are simply deducted from the pre-paid Dining Plan card. Each package will outline how many counter-service, table-service and snacks you can enjoy at Disney each day.
One of the best ways to utilize your Snack Credits is by using the Dining Plan at the Global Marketplaces of the Epcot’s International Food and Wine Festival. Disney and Food Bloggers already know this, but you can definitely reap the (yummy) rewards too!
#3 More Disney Hotels are set to reopen this year
Also set to reopen this year are 4 more Disney World hotels:
- All-Star Music Resort (3-star) — from September 16, 2021
- Port Orleans Resort – Riverside (4-star) — from October 14, 2021
- Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter (3-star) — from October 28, 2021
- All Star Sports (3-star) — from December 9, 2021
Yaz and Ash are excited by this news because it means there will be many more dining options coming their way!
For them, the Mickey Beignets from the Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter are a dish not to miss. With their own cult following, these delicious pillows of tasty fried dough are dusted in powdered sugar and are delight to eat day or night.
