What is Black Friday?

How to bag the best deals

One thing’s for sure; there are some fantastic deals to be had on Black Friday. But how do you find them? Is there a technique or strategy when it comes to bagging a bargain? Well, there are certainly ways that you can make your Black Friday shopping experience more pleasurable. Follow our 5 steps to shopping success!

Research, research, research

Find out what you want ahead of time. Whether it’s flights to somewhere far-flung, a once-in-a-lifetime travel experience, or a luxury villa vacation, knowing what you’re looking for means that you’re far more likely to find it.

Check for deals before Black Friday

Many places release sneaky teasers of their deals before the day itself. Keep an eye on your favorite websites (including Top Villas), for advance information on what’s going live and when.

Sign up for newsletters

Another way to find out what’s going on in the world of Black Friday deals, sign up for email newsletters. Some companies offer subscriber-only discounts and deals, and many will remind you when a deal is about to go live. It’s a great way to get the inside track of Black Friday deals, and discounts throughout the year.

Start early

The peak time for ‘in-person’ shopping is between 2 pm and 4 pm. The shops are heaving at this time, so it’s worth taking a lunch break at this time if you’re out and about on Black Friday. Online, peak times are more spread out throughout the day, and the pandemic has only increased the shift towards online shopping. For travel deals, you will find almost all of what you’re looking for online, so we recommend that you start early. Sometimes, it’s even worth setting an alarm to get yourself online before the masses (especially if you’re after a first-come, first-served, or limited deal).

Don’t forget social media

Check out social feeds for a head’s up about great deals, or sometimes social-unique discounts and offers. Companies will sometimes offer special discount codes or sales to their social media followers. Follow our fabulous socials on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest for travel inspiration and a heads up on upcoming offers.
