If you’re thinking of heading off to Florida for your holiday this summer don’t forget it has more than just sunshine and theme parks to offer. Down in the south west on the warm coast of the Gulf of Mexico, there are many places and attractions to tempt you. One of our favorites is Cape Coral.
Cape Coral which sits on the banks of the Calooshatchee River has more canals and waterways than any other city in the world – yes even more than Venice! There are 400 miles of them for you to navigate and enjoy.
Fishing and boating
If the year round sunshine and the fishing and boating opportunities here are a temptation, why not stay in a Cape Coral luxury villa where you can enjoy your surroundings in style.
Cape Coral is a real fishing paradise with its clear waters, tidal creeks, tropical shallows and fishing pier. You’ll find everything you need to indulge your fishing passions here from its many fishing hire and boat charter companies for a great day’s deep sea fishing and a very different catch.
Cape Coral Yacht Club
Why not dock your own boat at the city’s Yacht Club or just charter one to cruise the canals and see the city from the water? It’s a great way to see the sights.
Or just enjoy the Club’s land-lubber activities like the public beach, tennis courts, fishing pier and restaurant that you’ll want to try. The Yacht Club is easy to find as the nesting parakeets and parrots in the surrounding treetops are like a beacon to show you where it is.
You don’t even have to leave the city to see the wildlife! Cape Coral is home to the Burrowing Owl. These strange little creatures are everywhere but they don’t live in the trees. They make their homes below ground burrowing in front yards and even parking lots!
If you love marine life you won’t have to go far to see dolphins and manatees in the waters off Cape Coral.
Come on down to Cape Coral where ‘the living is easy’ and enjoy the water! No matter what your chosen activity, Cape Coral will seem like paradise especially when you stay in a top class Florida villa.
