Visiting the upside down world of WonderWorks

If you’re planning to visit Orlando, staying in a luxury vacation rental, you’ll know about many of the big attractions nearby.  These include numerous theme parks such as Mickey’s home.  But do you know about WonderWorks on International Drive in Orlando?

WonderWorks

Like all fantasies, there’s a story behind the arrival of this upside down house.  Apparently it landed here when Professor Wonder and his team harnessed the power of a man-made Tornado.  Crazily the experiment accidentally sent his top secret laboratory here from its base in the Bermuda Triangle.  As you will see things didn’t go quite to plan and the laboratory landed upside down.

Your experience
Don’t let that bother you though.  It means WonderWorks is easy to find and you can orientate yourself on entry via the Inversion Tunnel.

Thank goodness the experiments still work after its amazing and unusual voyage.  No need for concern as there are over 100 interactive exhibits in the laboratory to keep the whole family amused.

Entering through the Inversion Tunnel

Everyone loves bubbles in the Bubble Lab where you can climb into a huge bubble that you’ve made.  If you want to know how it feels to experience a 5.3 earthquake like the one that shook San Francisco in 1989, or a hurricane visit the Disaster Zone.

You might prefer to test your mind and direct a ball with your thoughts!  Sounds impossible?  Once you’re all geared up with your electrode headband it will be easy but you’ll need a partner.

Try playing the floor piano, stretch out on a bed of nails or create the virtual roller coaster ride that you know you’ll enjoy.

Where is it?
On International Drive in Orlando, just past the intersection with Austrian Row and near to the Holiday Inn.  This indoor attraction is good for the rare wet days in Florida or the ones that are too hot to spend outside.  It’s also close to your Orlando luxury villa!

Getting in
This attraction is open every day of the year from 9.00a.m. till midnight.  Admission is $24.99 for adults and $19.99 for children 4 – 12 and seniors (over 55).  Lazer Tag and the Dinner Show increase the entry cost.  Check WonderWorks’ Facebook page for ticket deals too.

There’s lots to do for all ages and it’s a great day out with a difference.
