Ten things to do in Orlando this New Year’s Eve

With firework displays, live entertainment and family events held throughout the year, Orlando is never a boring place to be. But New Year’s Eve is extra special. Whether you’d like to spend it at the electrifying theme parks or dining at one of the city’s best restaurants, you’re sure to have a night to remember. Here are just some of the ways you can ring in the new year.

1. Watch the firework displays at Walt Disney World

Every year, the Disney Parks light up for the festive period, and the lights are still twinkling on New Year’s Eve. Three of the main parks – Magic Kingdom, Epcot and Hollywood Studios – put on extra live entertainment for Disney guests, including firework displays. You definitely won’t want to miss the midnight firework spectacular held at Magic Kingdom and Epcot; we’d recommend going early to avoid disappointment.

2. Experience the party zones at Universal Orlando

See the New Year in at either of Universal’s parks: Islands of Adventure or Universal Studios. Both parks are open from 8am–1am on December 31. The New Year’s Eve festivities begin with party zones that feature character appearances, live music with DJs and a midnight firework show. As with the displays at Disney (see above), you’ll want to go early to get a decent spot.
