Orlando is a favourite vacation destination, not least for its many theme parks. As well as DisneyWorld’s six parks you will find Universal Studios, SeaWorld, LEGOland and GatorWorld. It’s the perfect destination for children and adrenalin junkie adults.
Fortunately you also have a wide choice of luxury villas in Orlando to use as your base for the duration of your stay. Booking one online is easy and you can also grab a good deal on attraction tickets too.
Between the theme parks and the activities offered at your villa resort, you might not have much time for anything else. But Orlando has a great deal more to offer including restaurants, nightlife and local sites.
For instance a more subtle pace can be enjoyed just ‘down the road’ at Chocolate Kingdom in Kissimmee. This outlet takes you through the whole process of chocolate production, from the cacao bean growing on the cacao tree in the greenhouse to the finished chocolate bar.
To keep the kids interested in the whole process, your tour follows the journey of the prince and his dragon. They are looking for chocolate shoes for the chocoholic love of his life, the princess. As you accompany them on their journey you get lots of chances to join in – searching the mystical chocolate river, checking out the chocolate castle, tasting a delicious chocolate drink and playing marshmallow catapult.
Tasting is the bit everyone longs for and it comes towards the end of the tour, which lasts about 45 minutes. Then for an additional $5 dollars you can create your own chocolate bar choosing plain, milk or white chocolate and three additional ingredients. These include nuts, marshmallows and M & Ms, as well as more unusual chilli pepper or bacon.
Chocolate Kingdom is open from noon to 8.00 pm every day and tours start on the hour. Entry costs $15 for adults and $12 for kids aged 4 – 12.
Once you are full of fascinating facts and tasty chocolate, you are only minutes from your Orlando vacation home to enjoy some R & R in the Florida sunshine.
