Eating your Way Round the World at Epcot

If you want to experience more than you expected on your Orlando vacation, make sure you visit Epcot.  It is one of DisneyWorld’s four theme parks in Florida where you can enjoy a World Showcase.

It’s only minutes from some of the most luxurious vacation home rentals in Orlando.

A quick World Tour
Even your official ‘World Tour’ at the park can be done in 2 hours.  The World Showcase Promenade is just 1.3 miles long.  If you take the official tour, you can cover the ground on a personal Segway at an additional cost of $99.  You’ll take in all the sights of the World Showcase Pavilions.  Don’t worry you get training first but this is strictly for adult parties only (16 and over).

Food and Wine Festival
Every autumn, Epcot hosts its own International Food & Wine Festival.  This is a food lover’s paradise where you can sample food from all over the world.  There’s a lot to participate in with mixology classes, wine tasting and cookery demonstrations.  All set to a backdrop of live musical performances.

World Food Tour
If you miss the Festival you can still enjoy food from around the world.  All of the country pavilions offer dining in and take out experiences, which represent their country’s culinary delights.

On your whistle-stop tour you can visit the United Kingdom for fish and chips, sausage and mash and a pint at the Rose and Crown Pub.  Then travel the short distance to China for Dim Sum at the Nine Dragons Restaurant.  Then hop over to Germany for Bratwurst and Sauerkraut at the Biergarten Restaurant.

Even Mexico is only a few minutes away.  You can sample Tequila whilst you learn about its history at La Cava de Tequila.  Or sip on an authentic Margarita with some Mexican delights at the San Angel Inn.  Both can be found in the Mexico Pavilion.

Each of the World Showcase Pavilions will tempt you with ‘local’ delicacies.  You can take your taste buds around the world in just a few days visiting Canada, Japan, China, Morocco, Mexico, Italy, Germany, France, Norway and the UK.  Of course you’ll find traditional American fare along the way in The Land Pavilion.  All in all, Epcot offers you a good culinary world tour at any time of the year.

In fact you may be staying in a truly American villa near Disney but at Epcot you can globetrot every day.
