Coming to a Galaxy near you…

With this week’s news about Disney acquiring the rights to Lucas Films and planning to make another 3 Star Wars films, fans are beside themselves with excitement.  Understandably there are many questions flying around, such as will the scripts be taken from one of the already published stories or will completely new content be used?  Will old stars such as Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia), Harrison Ford (Han Solo) and Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker) be invited back?

Disney’s background knowledge of the existing films is clearly evident in their Star Wars themed events.  And we’re guessing their creative team may just be made up of a few Star Wars fans too.

Star Wars Weekends at DisneyWorld
These weekends have been running every year since 2003 and there were even a few before that.  Star Wars fans attend in their masses and fully embrace the themed events in May/June at DisneyWorld’s Hollywood Studios over 4 consecutive weekends.

Dates haven’t been publicised for next year’s events yet, so if you are keen to attend you’ll need to keep an eye on the Disney Calendar.  Once those dates are revealed you can book your luxury villa near Disney and sort out your attraction tickets to Hollywood Studios.

You will need an entry ticket to the Park but there is no extra charge for the event.  Although some of the activities may need tickets.
